The course is for general practitioners and specialists in gastroenterology, infectious diseases, internal medicine, surgery, oncology, clinical nutrition, radiodiagnostics, biology, pharmacology.

The aim is to provide an update on diagnostic and therapeutic advances in the field through the support of expert speakers, the exchange of scientific information and even with extended discussions.

The recent pharmacological and technological acquisitions in gastroenterology and hepatology have opened new perspectives in the treatment of important pathologies, but impose adequate political and health choices on the rationality of the use of new drugs and the new diagnostic tools available.

The main topics analyzed during the course will be C virus hepatopathies, hepatocellular carcinoma, chronic inflammatory bowel disease, Barrett's esophagus, peptic disease, celiac disease, probiotics and prebiotics in IBS – IBD

The current knowledge will be defined for each topic, drawing the scenario of future perspectives, in both diagnostic and therapeutic fields. The new antiviral drugs for C virus hepatopathies that have revolutionized the treatment of these diseases will be the subject of one of the sessions.

The purpose of this course is to provide clinical and therapeutic data in pre-cancers, and guidelines for the prevention of hepatogastrointestinal neoplasms by qualified speakers in the field.

By Car

From Naples (60 km): Motorway A3 Salerno / Reggio Calabria - exit Castellammare - SS145 to Sorrento, then SS143 Amalfi Coast. From Salerno (34 km): Salerno, then direction SS163 Amalfi Coast. (add time - toll) From Salerno (35) follow signs for the Amalfi Coast, Amalfi, Praiano then.

By Train

Naples Central Station, take the Circumvesuviana to Sorrento, get off and then take the bus from Sorrento to Praiano. Salerno train station, take the bus (see Sita timetable).

By Airplane
The airport close to the Amalfi Coast is Naples Capodichino. To take a public bus to reach Praiano (Alibus) to the Railway Station of Naples Garibaldi Square, take the Circumvesuviana to Sorrento, get off and take the bus from Sorrento to Praiano. This route is recommended to take a taxi or rent a car (see Sita timetable) (See Circumvesuviana times)

By Boat

From Naples (60 miles), Salerno (35 miles) and Sorrento (15 km) hydrofoils and ferries daily runs to Amalfi (4km) and Positano (3 km). To reach Praiano then you can use a Water Taxi Service and achieving the 2 beaches (Praia, Gavitella or Marina), use the bus (See Circumvesuviana times) or take a taxi.
